Laura & Danny {Estacada}

On October, 06, 2011 | 0 Comments

Laura and Danny are such a nice couple. It was a really hot day, but we made it together. Thanks for a great day!

From the couple:

My experience with Powers was outstanding! The customer service was exceptional and if I had a question, the response time was so fast! I am very pleased with the whole Powers experience and would definitely recommend Powers to ANYONE who wants a professional photographer!

Stephen was absolutely amazing! It really looks like he enjoys what he does… and is very good at it too!! We were so pleased with Stephen’s energy and professionalism on our wedding day and couldn’t have asked for a better photographer! Stephen wanted to come out to the property BEFORE the wedding day. It was his idea and wanted to scope the property for the shots he wanted to take on the day of the wedding. I thought that was awesome! Especially since it was HIS idea. He didn’t have to take time out of his day to do this, but he wanted to make sure he knew the property before the big day.  THANK YOU STEPHEN!

Jenelle & Josh {Red Lion Convention Center}

On October, 06, 2011 | 0 Comments

Jenelle and Josh were married at the top of the Red Lion in NE Portland right next to the Convention Center, they really wanted the beautiful Portland cityscape as their backdrop, and the Red Lion was perfect for it. We shot their portraits at the Eastbank Esplanade. I had a great time with these two! Congrats guys!

From the couple:

I feel the whole process has been great. Everyone has been so nice and accommodating. I have been kept up to date with events and given reminders along the way which was very helpful when planning the wedding. Also, email communication was very speedy which was fantastic!

Joni was awesome!! She was so easy to work with and had great, creative ideas. Joni was crawling on the ground and climbing on things to get the best shot and angle for the photo. She went above and beyond to make sure I got the picture that I wanted. She also was great about letting me incorporate my ideas which made me feel like I had a bigger role in my photos.

Jessica & Mike {Poipu Beach, Kauai}

A beautiful location at Poipu Beach in Kauai was the scenario for the wedding of Jessica and Mike. The ceremony was very intimate with the closest friends and relatives. A nice warm weather, a Hawaiian guitar player and the sound of the beach was the perfect background. Congratulation Jessica and Mike!

Crista & Jason {The Governor Hotel}

On October, 05, 2011 | 0 Comments

I think this wedding is best summed up by some quotes heard by yours truly through out the night. ”There were times babe, that I forgot there was anybody else in the room.” ”I didn’t know what I was doing, I just got on the dance floor and started jumping around”. ”Jason is such a caring person and he and his family always treated me like family, I knew this was a perfect match when I met Crista because she did the same, she treated me like family”. ”Chewie!!” and the last phrase, ”Mozaltov!!!. Please note, I have no idea about the ”Chewie” thing. Congrats to Jason and Crista!!

Shannon & Grant {McMenamins Kennedy School}

I really liked working with Shannon and Grant at their wedding at McMenamin’s Kennedy School. It’s such a unique venue with tons of personality, and it matched the two of them perfectly!

Shannon and Grant chose to focus their wedding day on spending as much time with friends and family as possible. The atmosphere was fun and very relaxed for the night. I loved settling into photojournalism mode and catching fun candid shots of guests for much of the night. The relaxed schedule also guaranteed plenty of time to briefly pull Shannon and Grant aside for really cool portrait sessions throughout the day and evening. I especially liked taking photos in the Boiler Room bar – SO cool!

Kristi & Armando {Vista Hills Vineyard}

I really love shooting at Vista Hills Vineyard. The sunsets are spectacular!

Kristi and Armando’s wedding really was the coming together of two families and cultures, although they seemed as if they were all old friends. It was a beautiful union and not just a wedding, but a family celebration. Congrats to the bride and groom!

Erika & Chris {Cornelius Pass Roadhouse}

On October, 02, 2011 | 0 Comments

Chris and Erika tied the knot over at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse on an amazing sunny September afternoon! For a couple of people who don’t like being in front of the camera they made my job easy…they’re naturals! Thanks for having me!

From the couple:

We have had a good experience working with Powers.  Everyone has been really helpful and easy to work with.

Sheldon did an amazing job!  He was really professional but also had a fun side that helped us relax.  Sheldon was easy to work with. He was flexible on our wedding day and did a great job of getting all our “must have” photos.  He really worked hard to give us amazing pictures.

Kyla and Max celebrated their wedding at the Ecotrust downtown Pearl. It was a intimate day, with perfect weather, family and close friends to celebrate the most important day of their lives! Congratulations on a wonderful day and we look forward to sharing these more amazing images with you soon!

From the couple:

Great experience so far.

Marc was great.  He understood what we wanted and was very willing to work with us over the phone for planning since we live out of state. He also was willing to do our (somewhat) unusual shot requests.

Nicole & Rand {The Governor Hotel}

On October, 01, 2011 | 1 Comments

Nicole — elegant, classy, simply beautiful. She did her own make-up (perfectly I might add). Her dog Sophie played around on the hotel room floor and her bridesmaids took turns holding the fan to Nicole to keep her cool on this very very hot day.

Rand — handsome, witty, a one of a kind gentleman. He asked me if the cumberbunds with suspenders were too much. Not. at. all. You rocked that tux, Rand. ROCKED IT.

Seeing Rand’s range of emotions as Nicole walked through that church doorway was incredible. You could see his breath taken away and a quiver come to his chin. But the moment Rand and Nicole’s eyes locked, his sparkle and smile came right back. It was beautiful. Nicole & Rand are absolutely beautiful.

Good luck in your adventures! And have fun with your upcoming move to Hawaii!

From the couple:

It was smooth, seemless and we felt as if photography was the one thing at our wedding we didn’t have to worry about getting messed up. The staff was very professional at all times, quick to respond with answers to questions/ concerns and we felt very well taken care of.

Sarah was amazing! She knew exactly what to do at all times, had the schedule in her head and kept us on task. She had done some research before hand that translated into an efficient experience that was fun the whole way through. She took phone calls at all hours, coordinated coffee meet ups at the last minute when we came to Portland for 24 hour whirlwind trips. She was super accommodating. Not to mention our actual picture taking experience was awesome. We squeezed in some extra locations, we got whole family pictures ad-hoc at the reception. She was so cued into our needs it all happened very naturally.
