Sarah & Jeremy {Wind Mountain Ranch}

On August, 27, 2011 | 0 Comments

Sarah and Jeremy’s wedding setting at the Wind Mountain Ranch was one of the most breathtaking ones I’ve seen. Stunning views of the Gorge were everywhere in site. These two awesome to work with, and their family and friends were such a fun group… a groomsman ended the night with an awesome Ice Ice Baby performance!

From the couple:

Joni was great! Everyone loved her. She did such great poses and had a great eye for the area event though she had never been there before. My father in law is a tough critic as he does photography, mostly landscapes, for fun, but she passed with flying colors! I would recommend her to anyone who is looking!

Carley and Jamil {Estacada, OR}

On August, 27, 2011 | 0 Comments

It was really a great experience photographing Carley and Jamil’s big day. The weather was beautiful, guests were happy and the home where the event was held was gorgeous. Congrats Carley and Jamil!

From the couple:

We loved working with powers photography. From the beginning processes of us finding our perfect photographer to our meetings to the day of experience. It all was so smooth and professional. Peter was wonderful. Very easy to work with and really listened to what we as a couple wanted. He met with us and really thought of different shots that would make our pictures unique. We felt that he really took the time to connect with us as a couple.

Venessa & John {The Gorge}

On August, 26, 2011 | 0 Comments

So…sometimes, no matter how you plan somethings just kind of go sideways, but more on that later. I met Johnny and Vanessa the Thursday before their Engagement Session at Vanessa’s sister’s wedding. That’s right, I’m keeping it in the family. We decided to start at the Multnomah Falls Lodge in the Gorge and move from there. When we got there, it was packed to the gills with tourist. Nothing against tourist because I’ve been known to be one from time to time, but you see me working…don’t ask for me to take your picture and tell me how to do it. It’s just bad taste. Anyways after a couple of shots there we decided to pile into my car and go back on 84 because it looked like something was going on going east. Ok, let’s roll with the punches so off we went. After taking some shots in the glow of the ”Magic Hour”, a term used by photo nerds like me describing the magical light before sunset we made our way back to the lodge where Vanessa and Johnny were parked. We got on 84 and everything was going smoothly then that smoothness turned into something so opposite of smooth that it resemble walking on a floor of broken glass and rusty nails barefooted. I-84 is Closed. What! We were being re-routed to the old highway which for a second didn’t seem so bad. Well, three hours later when we arrived back at their car we reassessed our original observations. Johnny and Vanessa took it in stride though and as a result of that three hour tour we now have some inside jokes including bum ankles, highway cell phones, house squatting and turning left at inappropriate times. I also have a new nick name, ”Money Mike”. Thanks Johnny and Vanessa for making it one of the most memorable Engagement Sessions ever.

Erin & Kevin {Postlewait’s Farm}

On August, 25, 2011 | 0 Comments

Erin and Kevin chose the beautiful Postalwaits for their intimate wedding celebrations. It was a perfect day with an abundance of sunshine, close family and friends from all over Oregon. Thanks again for sharing your special day with us and we can’t wait to hear all about your tropical Caribbean cruise! So jealous!

From the couple:

Marc was wonderful!  So friendly and professional. Every time we spoke he put my mind at ease and it was great having one less thing to worry about on our wedding day.  He got along great with everyone involved in our wedding and did a great job keeping on schedule while not being pushy. He kept saying things like “let me take care of that” and I NEVER worried about how everything would turn out. Overall I was very impressed with our photography experience.

Patty & Graham {Venue Pearl}

On August, 25, 2011 | 0 Comments

Patty and Graham chose a perfect Portland day for their wedding at St. Patrick’s Church and Venue Pearl. Patty showered all of her guests with her loving exuberance and Graham’s warmth and kindness never wavered. What a wonderful couple!

From the couple:

We really enjoyed working with Cammie.  She wanted to make sure that we got the photos we wanted in terms of people and places.  She also maintained a pleasant attitude throughout a very long day. I thought that Cammie was great.  She kept in constant contact with us, worked with our crazy schedule to meet with us before the wedding, and provided helpful suggestions–particularly when it came to possible locations.

Jamie & Ian {McMenamins Edgefield}

On August, 24, 2011 | 0 Comments

What a wonderful time we had at Jamie and Ian’s wedding at McMenamins Edgefield! They had an beautiful, intimate ceremony at the theater and a fun reception with a lot of dancing at the Attic. Have a great time in Cabo San Lucas and see in Las Vegas!

From the couple :-)
Juan was amazing to work with. He was reassuring and professional. He composed great shots and gave great direction during poses. Kaarin was also extremely helpful and professional. They both appeared to take pictures during the best moments but were never intrusive or overbearing. Juan went above and beyond by scouting out great locations on the wedding property. He researched the time for the sun to set so that we could take pictures with certain variations on lighting. He was very helpful and communicated well at all times.

Amanda and Andrew are a great couple. Their friends and family were so much fun. It was a great wedding at Vista Hills Vineyard!

From the couple:

It was the perfect experience. Everyone was very helpful from start to finish. Especially since we were planning from afar, I really appreciated the fact that they were so accessible. I couldn’t have imagined my wedding without the Powers team. You guys were awesome! Stephen was terrific! He was very friendly and made us comfortable. Very easy to work with and knowledgeable. Loved him! We appreciated the constant attention and how he took pictures without feeling invasive.

Mount Hood Bed and Breakfast is one of the most beautiful venues in Oregon. Christine and David had a crystal clear view of the mountain during their ceremony. And they were blessed with an incredibly golden sunset.  A picture perfect day.

Ashlee & Michael {Mount Hood Ski Bowl}

On August, 24, 2011 | 0 Comments

Michael & Ashlee married at the top of Ski Bowl with a perfect mountain view behind them.
Guests took the ski lift (some took the Alpine Slides!) to the reception at the base of the resort.
It was gorgeous weather and couldn’t have been any smoother or easy-going of a day.
Congratulations, Michael & Ashlee! It was an absolute pleasure working with you!

From the couple :-)
Sara was AMAZING. We met twice before the wedding, the second time we planned out every detail of the timeline to ensure getting all of the shots that were important to us. This was more than I expected and very appreciated. The day of the wedding Sara was impressive. She arrived early which was unexpected and a blessing because of the logistics of our travel from the chalet to the top of the mountain to the reception site. She was everywhere, getting so many photos and was huge in assisting to keeping the evening flowing. We got so much more than a photographer. Ryan was amazing too. When we were on the ski lift coming down we saw him beside a bush taking photos and then sprinting to the bottom to get shots of us getting off the chairlift; quite impressive. They were everywhere and we couldn’t be happier with their performance! And all 200 of our guests were impressed too, I don’t know how many times we heard how great our photographers were, that they were everywhere and how great it was to have them a part of the day.

Location Day {Pacific City, Oregon}

On August, 23, 2011 | 0 Comments

What a great day for an exciting ‘location day’ session!  Peter and I took the gorgeous drive to Pacific City today and worked with a number of fun couples!  The day started out fairly grey with a bit of low fog and then brightened up with lots of sun!  It was really windy all day and this made it even more exciting.  Some of our client’s brought along their dogs while another bride came with her bridesmaids!  Thanks everyone for such a fun day.  I posted a few of my favorites below.
