After 20 years in the industry, Geranium Lake has mastered the art of flowers. Owner Kim Foren and her staff specialize in flowers and event styling for any event,but especially love weddings! Their work is always stunning, and they offer many options to accommodate every bride & groom. You’ll find them listed on many wedding industry preferred lists locally, but were showcased nationally on the Today show, too!
Below are some questions we asked Kim:
When were you founded?
Owner Kim Foren is trained as a fine art painter and showed her whimsical oil paintings for sixteen years at Quartersaw Gallery in Portland. Desiring a change in her corporate life, she started selling flowers in 1993 out of her VW van in front of Grand Central Bakery on SE 22nd and Hawthorne in Portland. She named her business Geranium Lake Flowers inspired by her favorite Windsor and Newton oil paint color “Geranium Lake”, a saturated fuchsia pink. The name serves as a reminder to keep her business creative.
What sets you apart from other vendors in your category?
We are really for EVERYONE. We do not have any minimums and we believe everyone deserves amazing flowers on their wedding day so we make that happen. We have our own line of custom linens, lighting, props, chairs, etc. that we can pull from too. We also have a DIY option for brides who want a hands on experience (and to save money!).
Why did you get into weddings?
It’s a natural part of being in the floral business but more so, because we love the personal connection and developing those relationships with couples and their families.
What is your favorite part about weddings?
The priceless look on a brides face when she sees her bouquet!
What advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
Find vendors that “get” you and then let them do their magic. We are professionals and we love that you trust us to get it right.

We travel anywhere, including NY. We also ship flowers!
